Some Important Features and Facts about the Bihar Board
The BSEB Class 12 Vocational Result along with the results of Arts, Commerce, and Science has been announced on the same date. As is mandatory with other examinations, students are required to score minimum marks in order to be able to pass the exam. Candidates who fail to secure minimum marks will have to sit for supplementary exams.
Achieving a high percentile in the board examinations is very important, as it can help decide which institutes a candidate can apply for further studies. Since premium institutions have high cut-offs and aim to take in only the best students, performing well is crucial. Students are undoubtedly eagerly waiting to see their BSEB 12th Class VO Result 2017 and will hope that they secure good marks.
There have been widespread reports of cheating in the Bihar Board examinations in the past. More recently, some toppers were found to be unable to answer simple questions posed to them. This resulted in a special re-examination for 14 toppers. This year, however, things are set to change. The Board decided to evaluate the answer sheets of the intermediate examination digitally in a bid to check for anomalies. Patna and Vaishali are the first two districts to be subject to this change, as they have the highest examinees. Hopefully, this year’s BSEB Class 12 Vocational Result won’t come under the scanner.
Under the new system, answer sheets will be bar-coded so that evaluators are unaware of whose answer sheets they are evaluating. The same sheets are then scanned. Copies of the scanned answer sheets will be sent to examiners for further evaluation on computers located at evaluation centres. A centralised server and the new digital evaluation system will possibly eliminate or reduce cheating during the important board examinations. Students, especially those from Patna and Vaishali, awaiting the Bihar Board vocational result 2017, will be among the first examinees to have their papers digitally evaluated.

About Bihar Board
The Bihar Board, which is headquartered in Patna, is a statutory body that functions under the Government of Bihar. It conducts secondary and senior secondary examinations twice a year in both private and government schools in Bihar. The annual board exams are conducted in the month of February-March while the supplementary exams are conducted in August-September. Aside from these school exams, the Bihar Board also holds departmental exams like Certificate in Physical Education, Diploma in Physical Education, and a Teachers’ Eligibility Test.
This year’s BSEB Class 12 Vocational Result would have had transgender students exercising their third gender option during the examinations after the Bihar Board decided to follow in the footsteps of the CBSE. While a small move, it will perhaps pave the way for transgender students to be more empowered.
In addition to the new digital evaluation system, the Bihar government directed SPs and district magistrates to put in place strict security measures at evaluation centres and keep away loiterers. The evaluation itself was done under CCTV surveillance. The evaluators were also asked not to take mobile phones into the centres. These measures will apparently prevent cheating and swindles that have plagued the Bihar Board in the past. Undoubtedly, all eyes will be set towards the Bihar Board vocational result 2017 and the results of the other streams to see if these changes have been reflected.
