Assam Higher Secondary Education Council has yet to announce a date for Assam HS Result 2018. About 2.5 lakh students participated in Assam Board Class 12th examinations in 2017. In 2016, about 2.46 lakh students appeared in the same examination out of which over 2.15 lakh students cleared the examinations last year, with girls leading the league by a great margin in terms of the percentage of passed candidates.
The overall pass percentage for all three streams: arts, science, and commerce dipped as compared to previous year results. The pass percentage in humanities was 73.16% against 79.92% in 2016 while in science and commerce it was 86.24% and 82.72% respectively against 90.96% and 86.01% in 2016.

AHSEC, an acronym for Assam Higher Secondary Education Council, is the chief authority for administering and managing senior secondary examinations in the state of Assam. Dr. Dayananda Borgohain is the present Chairman for AHSEC while Sri Simanta Kumar Das fulfills the role of Secretary. Besides conducting yearly senior secondary examinations, AHSEC is appointed to promote and regulate senior secondary education in the state.
